Support - The Black Currriculum
Help provide resources to teach Black British history in the UK
£10 helps develop packages of support for teachers to teach black British history
The Black Curriculum is a social enterprise founded in 2019 by Lavinya Stennett to address the lack of Black British history in the UK Curriculum. The Black Curriculum run a variety of virtual and in-person programmes to schools, young people and corporations to promote the importance of Black history.
Unfortunately, racial bias is a reality that people in the UK and all around the world face. It exists due to a variety of reasons including a lack of understanding of black history. Highlighting black history can help reduce hate crimes, build more inclusive and resilient communities, as well as equip young people to make the most out of the increasingly globalised world we live in.
This is what The Black Curriculum aims to achieve by encouraging schools to include black British history in their curriculum and enable them to re-imagine the future of education through inclusive of black history.
When you support The Black Curriculum your donations go into fairly employing staff, delivering programmes and developing more exciting resources for young people.
